Data collection and processing
When you register for weekly classes, workshops, or other events organised by inSpiral Dance Company Finland, you enter into a contract with us: you agree to follow the dance school’s rules (e.g., pay the fees), and in exchange you get the right to take part in the activity you registered for. We will also make sure that you’ll get up-to-date information about the dance school’s upcoming events and the benefits which you are entitled to based on your registration/attendance (e.g., events open only to the dance school’s dancers and the right to compete).
To make and execute that contract, we collect and process data related to your registration. This data consists of your contact information, registration information (which class/workshop/etc. you’ve registered for, start and end dates, etc. details asked at the time of registration), records of your attendance, and records of the invoicing and payment of your fees. For competitions and grade exams, we also collect and process results.
Who processes your information and how depends on what you have registered for.
Workshops and other school-wide events
When you register for workshops or other school-wide events, your data is collected into the joint register of Irish Dance Finland ry, and it is processed by persons who are assigned to the task by the association.
Name and contact information (but no other data) can be can be transferred from the joint register to local registers. This is done only if it is necessary for checking a person’s right to attend the event, or if it makes it faster to contact the person in urgent matters. Name, contact, and attendance information can also be transferred to inSpiral Dance Company Finland’s main teacher (Tereza Bernardová, TCRG) or to a person named by her if it is necessary for checking a person’s right to compete or take grade exams.
Your data is stored as follows:
- Contact, registration, and attendance information: 2 years from the end of the event
- Invoicing/payment information: 5 years (or as long as required by the tax law) from the end of the tax year

Weekly classes and other local activities
When you register for weekly classes or other local activities, your data is collected into a local register and processed locally. For example, if you register for the weekly classes to Jyväskylä, your data is collected into the register of Jyväskylä, and it is processed by the local teachers in Jyväskylä (see table below).
Name and contact information (but no other data) can be transferred from the local register to organisers of school-wide events (i.e., to the joint register of Irish Dance Finland ry). This is done only if it is necessary for checking a person’s right to attend the event, or if it makes it faster to contact the person in urgent matters.
Your data is stored as follows:
- Contact, registration, and attendance information: 2 years from the end of the school year during which the information was collected
- Invoicing/payment information: 5 years (or as long as required by the tax law) from the end of the tax year

Competitions and Grade Exams
When you register for competitions or grade exams, your data is collected into the joint register of Irish Dance Finland ry, and it is processed by persons who are assigned to the task by the association.
Name and contact information (but no other data) can be can be transferred from the joint register to local registers or to inSpiral Dance Company Finland’s main teacher (Tereza Bernardová, TCRG). This is done only if it is necessary for checking a person’s right to attend the event, or if it makes it faster to contact the person in urgent matters.
Copies of grade exam results (including dancers’ names and birth dates) will be transferred to the archives of the grade examiner and CLRG. Results of competitions are public unless the rules of the competition state otherwise.
Your data is stored as follows:
- Contact information: 1 year from the end of the event
- Results: 2 years from the end of the event
- Invoicing/payment information: 5 years (or as long as required by the tax law) from the end of the tax year

Your rights
You have the right to request to see all your personal data at any time. The request can be made by separate mails to all the controllers who have collected your data. Alternatively, you can send one request to the controller of the joint register and authorise them to request and collect your data from the local registers.
You may request that we only send you messages which relate directly to your registration or that we do not keep a record of your attendance. Please note, however, that this may limit your opportunities to take part in the dance school’s activities.
You also have the right to request that we correct any errors in your data or that we erase your data. However, we cannot delete data which we are required to store for a certain period of time by law (such as invoicing and payment information). You also have right to request that we restrict the processing of your data and to object to the processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (www.tietosuoja.fi/en/).
